A lot of musicians find their way into the music industry because of past struggles, and for some, it's a way to cope with mental health issues. Music becomes a way to find fulfillment and satisfaction, driving them to pursue it as a career.
Just a heads up, it's pretty common for a lot of peeps, like 95 percent of us, to deal with mental health stuff. Some of us are lucky to have had good parents, which can really help. But for those who've been in bad relationships or environments, it can be even harder. It's super important to reach out for help and make changes to improve our well-being as we go through life.
The music industry can sometimes prioritize profit over the well-being of artists. It's important for artists to prioritize their mental health and well-being, regardless of external pressures. By focusing on self-care and healing, artists can produce their best work and thrive in a sustainable way.
And I think it's really important for artists to find healing, so they can help others do the same. It's not just toxic people who can cause trauma – lots of things can mess with your mental health.
And some places don't really appreciate artists and their work as much as they should. This can lead to artists feeling a lot of stress and sadness due to financial struggles and Isolation.
Here are some tips that I recommend to recording artists to deal with their mental illness:
Always keep in touch with your crew. Also, get out there and connect with other artists to pick up new skills. Music is all about communication, so use it to make some cool friends.
Just jamming out can be so refreshing for any musician. It's like a mental reset button.
Remember to keep up with your practice. Try to get some practice in every day.
Make sure to focus on eating healthier, balanced meals. You don't have to rely on takeout from nearby restaurants anymore.
Don't forget to fit in regular workouts. Musicians who are always traveling tend to overlook exercise, but it actually has loads of mental health perks.
Make sure to get enough sleep. It's really important for your body, mind, and brain. Try to stick to a regular sleep schedule and avoid stress as much as possible.
Don't forget to keep up with your friends and family. Sharing your worries, emotions, and future plans with others can help keep you motivated.
